“We’re going in hot!”
could still remember how eugene was laughing non-stop when i said that before the performance yesterday.. haha.
hmmm. to be honest, when i first came up with that phrase, i was partially intoxicated. but but but…don’t get me wrong. i’m not really an alcohol addict. i just happen to appreciate wine. ESPECIALLY ICE WINE. but having said that, i do consume alcoholic drinks in moderation.
haha. anyways, the performance at MJC was pretty smooth sailing. however, i’m quite irritated by the fact that we weren’t provided equipment. i had to lug my freaking amplifier (mind you…it’s more than 20kg alright!) all the way across the island just for a night’s performance. oh okay. enough complains already….haha.
hmmm. a little more details on what we did before the performace.. i went all the way over to eugene’s house for a quick last-minute run-through of the songs we’re covering. everything went quite smoothly…in fact too smoothly that we had a full couple of hours to burn. haha. so we started watching funny youtube videos, playing around with eugene’s piano (oops. it’s the electone…). haha. we started improvising songs and eugene was jamming to it on his guitar. haha. oh eugene got all so nostalgic, so i decided to play him the ACS anthem in an attempt to bring him to tears…haha. alright i’m joking.. he wasn’t brought to tears..haha. he started jamming to it on his guitar too, and it sounded pretty good. oh i have a sudden idea…our band could actually make a cover of the ACS anthem, the rock version! haha. alright alright… it’s a stupid and lame idea.
okay we got tired of jamming after a while. and we decided to dress up before leaving. i was wearing a topman long sleeve smart-folded shirt and eugene thought it was way (quote) too plain for the event. zzZ. haha. personally, i felt if i’d put on more accessories and suit or vest, it would be overdressing for the event. haha. anyways, he got me a vest, skinny tie and a (i’ve to admit) pretty cool belt from his wardrobe for a (quote again) chic look. haha. whatever. -.-
hmmm. so we left for MJ to meet up with the rest of the band. the next few hours at MJ was plainly rehearsing and slacking off, nothing interesting..
okay. at around 8:30pm, we went in “hot“. haha. there were around 120 people around in the small atrium, and people were dressing like it’s prom night. hmmm…overdressing for the kill, or overkill for the dressing? hahaha. you decide..
anyhows, we got up there and initiated the bash party with check yes juliet. i wasn’t really in the mood to play at first. haha. dunno why… maybe it’s because i was tired from the practice sessions. but still, i guess i did perform alright. no wrong notes..hee! we were called to perform for the opening and closing, which is at 8:30pm and 10pm respectively…so there’s the problem of this HUUGGEE gap in between where we had nothing to do. zzZ.
anyways, we did our job, and did it well. kudos to the band for the successful performance! oh btw, we were so loud that the police came. 2 patrol cars to be exact. haha. fortunately they arrived too late. the bash had ended by then. haha. we had a brief photoshoot session after that.
too bad i’ve got no pics to upload…haha.
it’s time i’d changed to blog song…and the new song is *drum roll please*…

White Horse – Taylor Swift
Say you’re sorry
That face of an angel
Comes out just when you need it to
As I paced back and forth all this time
Cause I honestly believed in you
Holding on
The days drag on
Stupid girl,
I should have known, I should have known
[Chorus]
I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairy tale
I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain’t Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it’s too late for you
And your white horse, to come around
Baby I was naive,
Got lost in your eyes
And never really had a chance
My mistake I didn’t know to be in love
You had to fight to have the upper hand
I had so many dreams
About you and me
Happy endings
Now I know
[Chorus]
I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairy tale
I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain’t Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it’s too late for you
And your white horse, to come around
And there you are on your knees,
Begging for forgiveness, begging for me
Just like I always wanted but I’m sooo sorry
Cause I’m not your princess, this ain’t a fairytale
I’m gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well
This is a big world, that was a small town
There in my rearview mirror disappearing now
And its too late for you and your white horse
Now its too late for you and your white horse, to catch me now
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Try and catch me now
Oh, it’s too late
To catch me now
